Kare Foundation Resettlement Programme
- Kare Foundation values the ability of families to live in dignity. The Resettlement Programme targets to support households that live in extreme poverty, have a disabled member, are child headed or single parented. As life is becoming increasingly costly, many more households are falling into poverty. The programme support not only aims at making the families live in dignity but also be able to stand on their own in future through various interventions.
- Kare Foundation Pastoral Care team, Counsellors, Psychologists, Sociologists and other experts will also be on hand to help the households better cope with the challenges affecting them.
Examples of households that we are supporting include:
A single-parent household
- For the single parent household, Kare Foundation is constructing a decent house for the family. Some education scholarships are awarded to members of this household's children. A piece of land was also sourced for the family. The family is now being given full support in cultivating the land through purchase of seeds and fertilisers, tilling and other related costs for the farm work. The aim here is to increase the food sources when harvesting is done and to ensure the family is self-sufficient in food production.
A child-headed household.
- For the child headed household, support has been through offering education scholarships to all the 4 members. Two will be joining a tertiary institution, one who was in a day secondary school has been transferred to a good boarding secondary school and the last one has been given the full four-year secondary school scholarship as he is joining Form One.
