As Kare Foundation, we say Christ is the center of all we do, and on this note, We have Outreach Ministry as one of the ways we give hope to the marginalized. Through Outreach Ministry, we gave a special donation to Karia Boys High School Christian Union to enable them spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all students and the community within. Through the donation, the Christian Union leadership was able to plan and prioritize on the items they needed most which was table cloths.   The thanksgiving message from CU patron Mrs. Muriithi was as follows; On behalf of the C. In line with Kare Foundation’s Objective iii-Advancing education, Kare Foundation was able to enroll 10 students to 3 different secondary schools in Kirinyaga County. All the students were enrolled in line with the Ministry of Education set timelines to ensure a smooth learning process for all. This period included the week starting from Monday 15th Jan 2024 Among the Schools our team members were enrolled are; St. Marks Girls Thumaita A team of 5 girls were admitted to this school on time and were welcomed by our old team member Ruth who is in form 4 2. Mugumo Girls School A team of 3 girls were admitted to Mugumo Girls secondary school 3. Karia Boys School A team of 2 boys were admitted to Karia Boys School and were received well by our old team members in that school We wish all our team members a successful journey in the High School journey full of God’s grace and Providence We want to thank everyone who have made this process smooth and successful. 2024 YOUTH CAMP Kare Foundation Youth Camp is an annual  activity  that we value dearly. Every year we hold a week-long camp for all our team members (old and new). During this camp the team members get acquinted with one another and are taught a myriad of valuable lessons. This year’s camp was held from the 2nd – 8th of January 2024 at Kerugoya Boys High School. The camp is an exercise that is part of our mission to see that all our team members experience all-round development  as they progress. Kare Foundation team members during the camp receive support through close monitoring, academic and career guidance, physical wellness support, social skills, as well as mentoring and networking opportunities.  OUR THEME FOR THE CAMP WAS ” CHARACTER  BUILDING”.  WE  CHOSE ” CHARACTER BUILDING ” AS OUR THEME THIS YEAR BECAUSE, GOOD CHARACTER EDUCATION CAN PROVIDE GROUND RULES FOR LIFE FOR ADULTS AND  YOUNG  PEOPLE,  AND  IT  STRESSES THE IMPORTANCE OF HELPING CHILDREN LEARN AND PRACTICE BEHAVIORS THAT REFLECT UNIVERSAL ETHICAL VALUES. Good Character Equips Our Team Member To Be Conscious of The Right Thing To Do, Committed To Doing The Right Thing & Competent In Doing The Right Thing. This years main Focus was on the Books – Character and Emotional Wellness In Character Book, the following topics were covered; Integrity and Honesty Respect Courage Responsibility Humility In Emotional Wellness Book, Emotional Healing was covered in depth   Character & Emotional Wellness Our team members were taught on various computer lessons including  how to operate a computer how to connect to wifi how to operate different programs including ms word, excel   2024 Youth camp was a complete success and we thank God for his Supply and Grace. May 2023 Home Visits Strengthening Bonds and Fostering Growth In line with our mission to provide hope and support to marginalized youths, mothers, fathers, and people living with disabilities, we embarked on a series of uplifting home visits to our team members  nationwide steered by our matron Ms Jane.She traveled to Bungoma, Busia, Nyamira, and Eldoret (Emmanuel Complex School ) The purpose of these home visits was twofold. Firstly, we aimed to familiarize ourselves with the unique backgrounds and current situations of our team members. By gaining a deeper understanding of their origins, experiences, and challenges, this will help us effectively tailor our support and interventions to meet their specific needs. Secondly, our visits served as a source of encouragement and support. We stronglybelieve in the power of human connection and the strength of our collective bonds. By personally reaching out to our team members, we reinforce our commitment to their well-being and demonstrate that they are not alone in their journey. Together, we create a nurturing environment where everyone feels valued, cared for, and empowered to overcome obstacles.  As a foundation, our ultimate goal remains unwavering: to equip, educate, and empower the disadvantaged, breaking the cycle of deprivation that affects their lives. By providing them with the necessary tools, skills, and knowledge for personal and professional growth, we enable them to forge their own paths to success. 2023 KF Recruitment In line with our mission, Kare Foundation works towards supporting deserving young people pursue their education dreams. We do this through awarding of education scholarships at various education levels. This year we have  been  able  to acquire  a total of 12 team members who received the secondary school scholarship. The exercise took place from the 5th – 14th of January 2023. MATHEW 23 : 11 But the greatest among you will be your servant. Kare Foundation Scholarships are offered to children from disadvantaged backgrounds who want to pursue education from primary school to university. This year we took in children from Nairobi, Mwingi, Kisii, Kajiado and Kairinyaga counties in Kenya. PROVERBS 19 : 7 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done. In identifying the awardees for Secondary recipients, a public call was made and applicants, who met the set criteria applied. They filled standard forms, and shortlisted candidates were contacted. Part of our Staff also physically visited and vetted the candidates and families of the now onboarded team members. We appreciate our CEO, Loice Njanja and all stakeholders for the roles played towards completion of this exercise. We also wish all our new team members the best in their education journey.

Our teams of Youth Pastors, Youth Counsellors, Psychologists, Educationists and other professionals working on the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the Team Members are always present as well. OUR THEME FOR THE CAMP WAS ” CHARACTER  BUILDING”.  WE  CHOSE ” CHARACTER BUILDING ” AS OUR THEME THIS YEAR BECAUSE, GOOD CHARACTER EDUCATION CAN PROVIDE GROUND RULES FOR LIFE FOR ADULTS AND  YOUNG  PEOPLE,  AND  IT  STRESSES THE IMPORTANCE OF HELPING CHILDREN LEARN AND PRACTICE BEHAVIORS THAT REFLECT UNIVERSAL ETHICAL VALUES. A typical camp day would look like this; an early morning  session for personal devotion, followed by a session of physical education in the field, breakfast, and after this the team members would settle in for praise, worship and prayers to soak in the presence of God before teaching classes began, they would have a tea break, lunch, and general break, and dinner break in between sessions that would typically end at 9 PM Character Building As a revelation that this year’s camp was blessed, we were honored to have the President of Kenya, His excellency, William Samoei Ruto land at the same venue we were at (Kerugoya Boys High School); on the same day we met a member of the presidential security team Mr. Thuo who graced our Sunday Service, and encouraged   our team members by sharing his life story. The Director of Education, Kirinyaga Central, Mr. Machora, also came in and spoke to the team members, and entertained and encouraged them. He promised to   walk   with   the   team   members and Kare Foundation to ensure our children are equipped for the future marketplace. On the last day of Camp, we were humbled to have Elder Maina, of CITAM Woodley church come and speak a blessing over the lives of all our team members and staff present as well as guide and counsel our team members.   This year’s camp was a complete success and we thank God for his Supply and Grace. Karia Boys High School Weekend challenge As part of  Kare  Foundation  Outreach  Ministration,  we recently carried out our first-ever weekend challenge at Karia Boys Secondary School. The Mission ran over a period of three days Friday 28th – Sunday 30th October. The aim of this Mission was to bring the word of Christ to the young boys at Karia Boys and it was ever so timely. We witnessed over 100 boys give their lives to Jesus Christ in a  population of almost  400  boys,  this could only have been God’s doing. We not only had preaching sessions but we also had very interactive sessions with the young boys i.e. solo and group performances by the boys (with dance crews and singing groups),   skit performances,   One on one   Guidance and Counselling  Sessions with the ministers,  Career  Guidance sessions i.e. with Madame Joyce Thairu and engaging Q&A sessions where several anonymous questions were answered by various Ministers in attendance. The praise and worship before every session were also part of the highlights as we sang and danced to the Lord. This Mission was in many ways a blessing. It affirmed the need to keep this young generation grounded in Christ because they go through many life challenges i.e.  Drugs and  Drug abuse,  Sexual Immorality, Self-esteem issues,  Social challenges,  Issues stemming from their family backgrounds and so many more and if not attended to, they might end up losing their way in life. The school was pleased with our visit and encouraged more of the same. We thank our Kare Staff and our partner intercessors from CFF Donholm for making this Mission a success. All Glory to Jesus! Introduction Kenya’s Ministry of Education released the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations in April, 2022. The Ministry further announced the official period when all candidates were to join secondary school as Form 1 students would commence on May 5, 2022. In line with Kare Foundation’s Objective iii-Advancing education, 8 students, 4 boys and 4 girls, who had earlier been awarded the secondary school education scholarships, reported to their various schools on May 5, 2022. The scholarship covers the full 4 year secondary school education programme. Once selected, a scholarship awardee becomes referred to as a Team Member. One more girl was added as a Team Member though she was joining as a Form Three. The Kare Foundation selection panel ensured the successful candidates met the requirement needed for the awards. These criteria included partial or total orphan hood, extreme poverty background or family experiencing severely traumatic episode requiring external financial support. The selected Female Team Members were Judy Cherop Kemboi from Laikipia County, Angel Mwenesi Ingosi from Bungoma County, Linet Wambui Waithira and Pauline Njoki Wawira both from Kirinyaga County. The Male Team Members were Brian Kiprop Koech from Baringo County, Hosea Mutoro Wafula from Bungoma County, John Ngugi Ng’ang’a from Laikipia County and David Murimi Muriithi from Kirinyaga County. Ruth Wanjiru Ng’ang’a was the Team Member joining at Form Three level. She was transferring from Thigio Secondary School, a mixed day school in her rural village. Admissions of Team Members in Secondary Schools as New Students Kare Foundation had managed to secure places in two schools for all the 9 Team Members. The 5 female Team Members joined St. Agnes Girls’ Secondary School – Kiranja, a girls’ only government boarding institution.  The 4 male Team Members were going to Karia Secondary School, a boys’ only government boarding institution. Both schools are in Kirinyaga Central Sub-County, Kirinyaga County. On Thursday May 5, 2022, all the 9 Team Members reported to their respective schools. A team of Kare Foundation staff, volunteers and a Team Member’s parent accompanied them helping in the admission processes. This team was made up of Youth Counsellor Jane Wanjira, Intercessor Naomi Murage, Team Member Linet’s mother and Country Manager, Peter Nyongesa.   Lessons Learnt I} School fees is to be paid early. This ensures a smooth admission process devoid of any bottlenecks when Team Members go to school. This is what happened to the 9 Team Members as their fees had been paid well in advance.  Iv} Parental involvement in the admission processes is important for the ultimate, be it emotional or otherwise, wellbeing of the student. This involvement signifies the beginning of a complex 4 year relationship between the student, parent/guardian, the sponsor and the school. There are inter and intra-relationships between and amongst the parties participating in delivering the academic fruit for the child/ward, student or Team Member as the situation so dictates.  Conclusion The admission of the Team Members served as an excellent milestone for Kare Foundation. Kare Foundation would build upon the lessons learned to deliver quality service to Team Members and partners now and in the future. May Our Almighty God bless them all.
